Nasal cleanser
Itchy nose, a runny nose or a very blocked nose. An allergy causes all kinds of complaints. A tip to reduce those complaints: nasal rinse. A nasal douche with nasal rinse salt cleans the irritated nasal mucosa.
What complaints does a nasal cleanser help with?
Complaints due to a cold or allergy. An allergy such as hay fever or house dust mite allergy causes cold symptoms because allergens end up on your nasal mucosa. You can easily rinse away the allergens with a nasal cleaner such as a nasal douche. It also helps with colds and sinusitis.
Nasal rinsing helps with:
- Stuffy nose
- Running nose
- To sneeze
- (Chronic) sinusitis
- Recovery after nose surgery
- Inhalational allergies
What does a nasal douche do?
You can clean the nose (the nasal mucosa) and the paranasal sinuses with a nasal douche. You rinse the nose clean. Daily rinsing is safe and keeps the nose and sinuses clean, healthy and open.
There are different types of nasal douches:
- With this you spray the water, with nasal rinse salt, into the nose by squeezing the nasal douche. You determine the volume and pressure with which the water is sprayed into the nose.
- Electric nasal showers. This sprays water with nasal rinse salt into the nose at a selected setting.
- Neti pot. This uses the natural pressure of gravity to rinse your nose by tilting the nasal aspirator.
What is nasal rinse salt?
Nasal rinse salt from DOS Medical has been formulated in consultation with ENT doctors. It has been specially developed to clean the nose. Due to the combination of sodium chloride and sodium bicarbonate, it is not only extra cleansing, but also soft and comfortable for the nasal mucosa.
Do not use normal table salt
Normal table salt, which is also sometimes used for rinsing, is too hard for the nose. As a result, it can irritate, damage or inflame your nasal mucosa. Table salt with iodine certainly has this effect.
Nasal rinse salt with xylitol
In addition to normal nasal rinse salt from DOS medical, you can also use nasal rinse salt with xylitol. This variant has been specially developed to help with (chronic) sinusitis. Xylitol helps break down the biofilm of the bacteria that cause the complaints and helps relieve your complaints.

Nose cleanser for adults
Most nasal irrigators are made for use by adults. In children, nasal douches can also help relieve allergy symptoms. You often use less pressure with a squeeze bottle and a lower setting with an electric nasal douche. There are special versions of the neti pot for children. A nasal douche is simply not a suitable option for a baby.
