Nasal saline is used when the sinuses are blocked or inflamed. So for:
Nasal rinse salt contains sodium chloride (NaCl) and sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3). This combination provides – in combination with water – an extra cleansing effect.
This composition also has an important advantage over a solution with only salt. Because a saltwater solution can irritate, damage or inflame your nasal mucosa. This risk is even greater when you use salt with iodine.
Nasal saline rinse is much softer and therefore more comfortable.
