earwax
Everyone has earwax. But too much earwax can cause complaints. With these products you can relieve the complaints or remove earwax.
What is earwax?
In the ear canal are earwax glands that make our earwax. This earwax mixes with other loose particles in the ear, such as sebum, skin flakes and hairs. Earwax ensures that these particles are removed from your ear.
We don't have earwax for nothing. It has a number of functions. It repels water, protects the skin in the ear from drying out, protects against bacteria and intercepts dirt.
To best perform this function, earwax should only be in the outer part of your ear canal. If it is pushed further in, it will not come out on its own and can cause discomfort.
The symptoms of too much earwax
When you have too much earwax in your ear, this can cause complaints. Some symptoms of too much earwax or an earwax plug are:
- Earache
- Headache
- Pressure on the ears
- A stuffy feeling
- Hear less/nothing anymore
Of course you want to do something about this, but don't just stick a cotton swab or other object in your ear. You can damage the eardrum. Below we explain what you can do.
What to do about earwax?
Do you notice that the earwax in your ear is causing complaints? Then fortunately you can do a lot yourself to reduce the complaints or remove the earwax. Is your ear very blocked or are the complaints severe? Then contact your GP.
With an ear shower like the Earclin you can easily clean your ear canal and remove earwax. You use water and a special soap provided to rinse the earwax out of the ear canal.
The EarScratcher is an earwax pen that you can use to scrape the earwax out of your ear. There is a thickening on the pen that prevents you from going too deep into the ear. So you can't damage your eardrum with it.
Then we have Audispray . An ear spray that cleans your ears by means of soft misting. The effect is comparable to the Earclin, but the composition is different. The Audispray contains microbiologically controlled seawater, a 100% natural formula.
Has earwax caused complaints, such as itching or irritation? Then you can use ear drops with pure honey to counteract the complaints.
